This past Saturday, I sat with a small group of business owners, each sharing how they new how they wanted to use biggest daily frustrations.
The common thread?
Manual tasks eating away precious hours of their week.
"I waste three hours for the book I am launching and wondered how AI could help me," admitted Ray, an author with a new book coming out.
This question comes up in almost every conversation I have lately. Everyone wants to leverage AI, but the landscape of tools feels overwhelming.
The good news?
You don't need a massive budget or technical expertise to get started.
You just need a framework.
Let me walk you through the THINK method I've been using with clients to eliminate their first manual task:
T - Task: Find Your First Target
Start by identifying tasks that:
Repeat predictably each week
Follow consistent steps
Drain significant time
Create team bottlenecks
For Ray, it was assisting with marketing activities to promote his book.
H - Hypothesis: Pick Your Approach
"I initially thought where to begin leveraging AI more," Ray told me. Instead, we started with a simple hypothesis: Could a well-crafted AI prompt to become his marketing asssistant?
I - Invest: Build Your First Fix
We spent 5 minutes creating a CustomGPT that:
Detailed his exact process
Included examples of the book source data
Showed the required activities and structure
N - Network: Measure Your Gains
"I got so much out of the session," Ray reported this week. "But the bigger surprise was how quickly we were able to help him – I usually spend another hour fixing mistakes."
K - Knowledge: Grow From There
Now Ray is mapping similar tasks across other areas of his work.
The Math Makes Sense
Here is a simple calculation you can use:
3 hours weekly × $95/hour × 50 weeks = $14,250 yearly time value
What's the first manual task you could eliminate?
Try this framework and let me know what you discover. Sometimes the smallest automation creates the biggest impact.
