I've been using Claude to build small productivity apps, and it's changing how I work.

Have you tried those headline analyzer tools online? I have too.

The problem? They don't know your audience, cost money monthly, and give generic advice.

This morning, I was looking at my newsletter data, trying to figure out why some headlines had higher open rates than others.

Instead of guessing, I asked Claude to help.

I took my last 7 newsletter posts, grabbed all the data (headlines, open rates, clicks), and dropped it into Claude.

"What three things do my highest performing headlines have in common?" I asked.

The answer surprised me.

Headlines that name a tool names like "ChatGPT" or "Claude" got much higher open rates with a specific tasks did the best. It helped if I mentioned a resource I had inside the headline, too.

My best headlines were 6 or 7 words.

I asked Claude to list my top performing copywriting frameworks and match them to my data.

Then I had an idea: "Could Claude build me a headline analyzer based on my actual data?"

So I asked it to create a headline app that would score headlines based on my open rate patterns, flag weak words, suggest specific improvements, and offer alternatives.

Within seconds, Claude delivered a complete headline analyzer that appeared right in our chat.

I could test headlines instantly and see suggestions based on my data - not generic advice.

Now when I type my headline pieces into analyzer I get personalized feedback.

The best part? Claude rendered the entire app right there. I tested and refined it.

You can keep using it in Claude or grab the code to embed on a website or host using cloud storage.

I've done this with other small tasks I do regularly - things that don't need a full automation but still eat up time - all created as micro-tools in Claude.

What manual task could you transform into a quick custom app?

Try these steps:

Find a regular task that takes 20 minutes.

Gather your performance data if you have it.

Ask Claude to build a simple tool based on your needs.

Test it right in the chat.

Then use it or export the code.

The key insight?

Stop thinking "big automation" and start thinking "micro-tools" for those everyday tasks.

What small but annoying task could you eliminate with a custom Claude tool today?
