I watched the Google Workspace Flows demo video, and honestly, it's what I've been waiting for.
The way it connects different Google apps together to automate routine tasks is exactly what businesses want.
In the short video, Google shows how Flows works by connecting spreadsheets, documents, and other Google apps to handle work automatically. The interface looks clean and straightforward – you're essentially creating automated workflows without needing to code.
Think about those repetitive tasks you do every week.
For me, it's pulling data from various sources, formatting reports, and sending them to clients. With Flows, these tasks can run on their own while I focus on strategy and client relationships.
What impressed me was how it seems to work inside the Google apps I use everyday. No need to learn an entirely new platform or interface.
I've already submitted a request, and I recommend you do the same if you use Google Workspace.
I'm still waiting to get access myself, but I'll create a detailed video walkthrough as soon as I do.
The timing couldn't be better.
Think about all the speadsheets and docs you open each day for to copy data in Sheets, creating drafts in Docs, scheduling in Calendar, and tracking performance.
With Flows, we could automate so much work saving hours every week.
This is exactly where the THINK method shines:
T - Task: Identify those repetitive processes that eat up your team's time
H - Hypothesis: Map out how Flows could automate parts of the process
I - Invest: Start with one workflow to prove the concept
N - Network: Track the time saved and quality improvements
K - Knowledge: Expand to other processes using what you've learned
If you're wondering where to start, write down three of your most time-consuming workflows.
When you get access to Flows, you'll know exactly where to begin.
Have you identified any workflows you'd like to automate?
What tasks are currently eating up your team's productive time?
