"Who's your best customer?"

I ask this question in every session of my "Target Your Best Customer with AI and THINK" workshop at the Small Business Development Center.

The room always goes quiet.

When I ask for specifics about their best customer, most give me vague answers or say, “I don’t know.”

Here's what I've noticed:

Whether you're an entrepreneur building your own business or working inside a company, people typically fall into three groups: those who do not know the answer to this question.

The Relationship Builder - You have a lot of connections, but perhaps you're not leveraging them to their full potential. You rely on people relationships versus knowing how you help people or what you offer the world. You don't have a remarkable angle, or you're searching for it.

The Problem Solver - You know what you fix, but can't pinpoint who needs it most. You're reaching everyone, and you're wondering why few people respond.

The Data-Rich - You have customer information stored in your files and your brain. You know some clients were easier to work with, made you more money, and were more fun. But you've never looked for the patterns.

Most fall into that third group.

Whether you help external or internal customers, you have answers sitting right there in your data.

All contain clues about who your best customers are and what transformation you help them with.

The problem?

It was too time-consuming or expensive to find the patterns.

Instead of spending days reviewing this information manually, we can do it with AI and your data.

If you want to start, I have a prompt you can copy.

It was designed to help people find their tribe if they're in a new business, but you can change this for your situation.

Whether you have an established business and want to know who your best customers are, or want to see how you can stand out at work.

Modify the prompt and add it to your favorite AI assistant. Send it and see what it reveals.

You can make a copy of the prompt here.

The clarity you'll gain will help you uncover your best customer.
